Mr. Patrick Garez, a French Citizen born in 1940, began his career in commercial aviation in 1963 with AVCO Lycoming GMBH in Munich. In 1968, he joined Air Services Company Ltd in Hong Kong. His work required him to travel throughout the Asia Pacific Region, including Singapore where he began to understand the geographical and economic potential of Singapore. He has been a resident of Singapore since the creation of Asia Technical Services Pte Ltd (ATS) in 1974.

For many years Mr. Patrick Garez held the honorary position of French advisor for Foreign Trade, (Conseiller Du Commerce Exterieur de la France) of which he has now retired.

Since the inception of ATS almost 40 years ago, Mr. Patrick Garez has acted as investor, marketing representative and consultant for a wide array of European, America and Australasian companies in the commercial aviation and other industries. His entrepreneurial nature, matched with the extensive number of contacts made during this period, have led to the involvement of ATS in a number of other, non-aviation related projects including predominantly in the field of IT



Jean D. Garez

Director and Shareholder


Jean joined ATS as Business Development Director in January of 2002 to launch and manage the IT businesses of ATS including particularly the company’s regional investments in the MASA Group Defence and Exalead Enterprise software solutions. 


Jean Garez worked for 9 years in New York prior to moving to Singapore, spending 5 years of that time with 2 renowned market research firms: Daniel Yankelovich Group Inc., as Senior Research Analyst, and with the Meyers Research Group as Field Project Director. Following that Jean accepted a role at Crillon Importers Inc. as Brands Manager for Greater New York area, working with the infamous spirits baron Michel Roux, (responsible for launching Absolut Vodka, Bombay Gin, Stolichnaya Flavored Vodkas, Grand Marnier among many others).


Jean remains a Director and Shareholder of ATS, while also running an IT Consulting Company in Singapore called Plugged-In Asia.
